Dr. Marcos Perez has a strong background in equine medicine, obtaining his veterinary degree from the School of Veterinary Medicine of Complutense University in Madrid, Spain, then completing a 1.5-year equine internship at the School of Veterinary Medicine of Complutense University along with a Master’s degree in Veterinary Research. Dr. Perez completed an equine surgery internship at Milton Equine Hospital in Ontario, Canada, in 2013, then at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Kentucky, in 2015. From there, Dr. Perez worked as an Equine Surgery Resident at University of California, Davis from 2015-2018, became certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgery in 2019 and continued at University of California, Davis as an Equine Surgeon after the completion of his residency. Dr. Perez has now landed at Peterson Smith as an Associate Surgeon.
