Dr. Santiago Rodriguez was born and raised in a small town in the coffee region of Colombia. He had affinity for animals from a young age, but did not initially plan to become a veterinarian. Though Dr. Rodriguez was not around horses during his childhood, he attributes his innate passion for equines to his grandfather, who was an excellent rider and handler.
Dr. Rodriguez graduated from the University of Tolima in 2019 and, during his final year of vet school, decided that he wanted to dedicate his life to equines. After vet school Dr. Rodriguez gained experience at an equine practice, then began his internship at Peterson Smith in mid-2021.
Outside of work, Dr. Rodriguez enjoys watching soccer, hanging out with friends and listening to Latin music. He also enjoys learning new things and visiting new places, and learning Portuguese is on his radar, along with one day becoming a professor.
