Peterson Smith has always led the way in caring for the health of horses in our region. As one of the few full-service equine hospitals providing complete emergency care, we are committed to ensuring we maintain the full capabilities needed to provide emergency care when you need it.

Therefore, as of August 1, 2021, Peterson Smith will be making an adjustment to our ambulatory emergency services. To continue providing quality ambulatory emergency services in an efficient manner, we will be fully available for emergency services within a 20-mile radius of our referral hospital to all existing or new clients.

Past the 20-mile radius, we will continue to provide emergency services to regular and established Peterson Smith clients. We are unable to ensure emergency coverage past 20 miles for new or emergency-only clients.

As always, our referral hospital will accept emergencies regardless of distance 24 hours a day 365 days a year.  If this coverage change impacts you, please contact us if we can assist you in planning for the emergencies that occur along with equine ownership.  We greatly appreciate your support and understanding as we grow and change with the central Florida equine community.
